Smart Card Driver Verification and Vehicle Ignition
Control System
For most organisations it is important that only authorised personnel with valid permits are allowed to operate heavy industrial vehicles. Red Crater’s Smart Card Driver Verification and Ignition Control System provides this control and also provides a full audit of who was operating what machine at what time which can be used for incident investigation and maintenance. This system is based on using a proprietary MIFARE® Smart Card reader built by Red Crater specifically for this application, and uses a Windows CE application combined with an ignition control relay module. The operation of the system is simple with drivers being required to insert their card into the reader prior to starting the vehicle and then removing the card once they are finished.
The overall system is managed centrally via a Windows based application which enables administrators to configure machines, drivers and cards. The management application also supports the programming of the MIFARE® Smart Cards via an attached reader.

The Cardholder Enrolment Module is a Microsoft Windows® based application which provides a single screen for entering cardholder information in an organisation’s physical security system. It allows users to capture photos, allocate and change cards, edit personal data fields and assign access groups, all through a simple and easy to use application.
